What the detector checks.
The tool scans job description text for 18 patterns across three severity levels:
Critical — scam signals like pay-to-apply, unpaid trials, requests for bank details, equity-only compensation, and personal email contacts.
Warning— culture concerns like “fast-paced,” “we are a family,” “rockstar,” entry-level roles requiring experience, excessive interview rounds, and non-compete clauses.
Info — things to be aware of: missing salary information, no visa sponsorship statement, remote work ambiguity, and urgent hiring language.
Red flags are signals, not verdicts.
A single warning flag does not mean a job is bad. “Fast-paced” can describe a legitimate startup environment. But multiple warning flags, or any critical flag, should make you pause and investigate before applying.
If the detector flags a critical scam signal (pay-to-apply, bank details, personal email), do not apply. Report the posting to the job board.
It checks text patterns, not the company’s reputation, actual culture, or whether the posting is legitimate. Always research the company independently.
