01Is there a free job application tracker that works without an account?
Yes — this page is one. There is no sign-up, no subscription, and no limit on entries. Your applications are stored in your browser’s localStorage only: nothing is uploaded or synced, and clearing your browser data deletes everything. You can move your data in and out at any time with CSV and JSON import/export.
02What should I track for each job application?
At minimum, track the company, role, requisition ID, application date, posting URL, exact resume version, current status, and next action. A job-description snapshot, posting close date, submission proof, last contact, and outcome make the record much easier to reconstruct later. Only company and role are required in this tool.
03When should I follow up on a job application?
Use the employer’s stated timeline first. If the posting closes after you apply, review may begin only after that date. Without a stated timeline, five to seven business days is a practical planning window for one polite check-in, but it is not a response prediction. Use the follow-up date calculator for the actual dates you know.
04Does the tracker work offline, and can I take my data with me?
Yes on both counts. Once the page is loaded it runs entirely in your browser — no network calls carry your data. Export to CSV (opens cleanly in Excel or Google Sheets) or JSON (full-fidelity backup) at any time, and re-import either format later or on another device. Duplicate entries are detected on import by company + role or matching job link.
