Add possible references as drafts, record whether you have asked them, and mark a person confirmed only after they agree. The preview includes a confirmed reference only when a name and at least one contact method are present. Private briefing notes never appear in the copy, text download, or print view.

Make it easy to identify the relationship.

Use current details the person approved. “Former engineering manager for two years” is more useful than “friend,” and “can speak to release planning and client communication” gives the employer a truthful preview of the reference's perspective. Do not write a testimonial for the person or imply that they can verify work they did not observe.

If an application asks for references inside the form, follow the requested fields. If it asks you to upload or email a separate list, the exported sheet is a clean starting point. The list stays on this device unless you export it.

The names, email addresses, phone numbers, and notes are stored in local browser storage. Jobsistant does not receive those values. Clearing browser storage can erase the drafts, and anyone who can use the same browser profile may be able to see them. Use a private device for sensitive contact information.

With analytics consent, Jobsistant may record that a sheet was copied, downloaded, or printed. It never includes a reference's name, contact details, relationship, or notes in that event.
